Prep Baseball: Bulldogs rally to beat Anna-Jonesboro

Like a really good soap opera, Harrisburg baseball has never been short on dramatic experiences this spring.

The Bulldogs were back at it Friday when Jackson Pittman singled on the first pitch of his at-bat in the eighth inning, scoring Riley King as Harrisburg picked up the 3-4 walk-off win against the Wildcats at Jay Thompson Field.

After trailing 2-0 in the top of the fifth inning, Harrisburg scratched across one run in the bottom of the frame when Bryant Lester went deep to left field for his first home run of the season.

Anna-Jonesboro grabbed a 3-1 lead in the top of the seventh, but the Bulldogs rallied with two runs of their own when Reed Rider scored on an error by center field and Grant Wilson advanced to bases on the error and then scored on a wild pitch.

Harrisburg had just five hits on the day as Ethan Golish, Cameron Ande, Lester and Wilson all had one.

Pittman and Lester each finished with an RBI, while King, Lester, Wilson and Rider all scored one run.

On the bump, the Bulldogs used three pitched as Pittman got the start, going 5.1 innings, allowing two runs (all unearned on one hit, while striking out 10 and walking six.

Noah Arnold received Pittman, pitching 1.2 innings and allowing one run on one hit, while striking out two and walking one.

Chance Moscaredelli got the win, working the eighth and allowing no runs on no hits, throwing 10 pitches, eight of which were strikes and inducing three groundouts.
