Election 2022: Filing for primaries opens; closes March 14
Filing for the June 28 primaries opened March 7 for county offices, Congress, state legislators and more. Winners of the June 28 primaries will move on to the November general election. Filing closes at the end of business on Monday, March 14.
<b>Saline County</b>
County clerk, recorder The current county clerk/recorder, Jimi Williams-Cox, has filed for reelection, the only candidate so far. Williams-Cox is a Republican.
County treasurer: Jeremy Maloney, the current treasurer, has filed to run for reelection. Maloney is a Republican.
County sheriff: The current sheriff, Republican J. Whipper Johnson, has filed to run for reelection, as has a Democratic challenger, Robert "Bob" Smith.
County board: There are 13 seats open on the Saline County Board (the whole board), and as of close of business on Monday, 10 candidates had already filed their petitions to run. Republicans who have filed are Jay D. Williams, Rona Simpson Bramlet, Jean Ellis, Jeff Guard, Todd Horton and Casey Perkins. Democrats who have filed to run are Bob Oglesby, Bruce A. Tolley, Michele L. Gribble and Dennis A. Gauger. </h3>
