Prep Boys Hoops: Eldorado pick up pair of wins

Josh Owens had a career-high 22 points as Eldorado knocked off Carmi-White County 60-54 Tuesday night in Black Diamond Conference action.

Owens scored 17 in the first half and finished with four 3-pointers as the Eagles improved to 16-10 overall and 3-5 in BDC play.

Boston Bradley also notched double figures for Eldorado, tacking on 10 points, finishing 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Gage Heath just missed out on double digits, netting nine points, while Parker Price added eight points, Dylan Henshaw scored six points and Brock Cantrell finished with five points.

Carmi-White County (9-14) got 18 points from Gavin Holloman, while Tyler Goemaat finished with 14 points and Mitchell Edwards tossed in 11 points.

Ty Stubblefield scored six for the Bulldogs, while Brody Atteberry tacked on three points and Landon Driscoll tossed in two points.

Eldorado jumped out to a 19-10 lead and outscored CWC 19-7 in the second quarter to lead 38-17 at the break. EHS took a 48-33 going into the fourth quarter where the Eagles were outscored 21-12, but hung on for the win.

<b>Eldorado 54, Hardin County 48</b>

Eldorado held off a late rally and beat Hardin County 54-48 Monday night at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium.

Both ball clubs were tied at 14 after one quarter and Eldorado grabbed the first half advantage, outscoring Hardin County 13-11 in the second to take a 27-25 lead at the break. EHS outscored the Cougars 10-7 in the third to take a 37-32 lead into the final eight minutes.

Boston Bradley led the Eagles with 17 points and Parker Price finished with 14 points.

Brock Cantrell added eight points and Gage Heath scored seven points, while Josh Owens and Dylan Henshaw each finished with four points.

Hardin County was led in scoring by senior Jake Vaughn, who scored 24 points, while Ben Vaughn added eight points. Bryson Cullum and Kailen Gerdes each finished with five points, while Gavin Smith and Lance Ditterline each tossed in three points.
