Number of daily COVID-19 cases lower in Saline, Gallatin counties

ELDORADO - While people in Saline, Gallatin and White counties continue to test positive for COVID-19, the numbers appear to be trending lower than in previous weeks.

Friday through Sunday, Egyptian Health Department received notification of 69 cases for the three counties.

While that number occurred over a three-day period, it wasn't too many days ago that one-day totals were close to that number. Several days of positive test numbers in the high 50s and 60s have occurred very recently.

On Sunday, 12 individuals in the three counties had positive test results. That includes eight in Saline, three in Gallatin and one in White County.

On Saturday, 19 people had positive tests, including 10 in Saline County and nine in White County.

Friday saw the announcement of two Saline County residents who died as a result of COVID-19 complications. In addition, 40 people in the three counties had positive test results. They included 16 from Saline, two from Gallatin and 22 from White County.

As of Sunday, Saline County has had a total of 2,085 lab-confirmed positives and 37 deaths. White County has had a total of 1,360 lab-confirmed positives, including 23 deaths, and Gallatin County has a total of 413 lab-confirmed positives of COVID-19, and three deaths.
