Eldorado cancels Trunk-or-Treat, but trick-or-treating still on

ELDORADO - Eldorado Mayor Rocky James said in light of rising COVID-19 cases in Saline County, Eldorado's annual trunk-or-treat event is canceled but regular trick-or-treating will continue.

"The trunk or treat usually has a lot of people gathered in a fairly close space, and even though it's outside, we thought that might not be a safe idea," James said. "With the number of COVID cases going up, we don't want to do anything that will put people in jeopardy."

However, the city will permit trick-or-treating from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, James said.

"We feel that if people are comfortable with having kids come door-to-door, then they can do it and just leave their porch light on during that time. And if they don't want to, that's OK, too," James said.
