Bulldogs finish second in Ohio Division

For the seventh year in a row, the Massac County girls' golf team took home the Ohio title from the Southern Illinois River-To-River Conference Golf Tournament, contested Tuesday at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale.

The Patriots, who have won 23 titles in the last 28 years, shot a 335 and were 61 shots better than runner up finish Harrisburg, who finished second with a 396. Herrin took third, finishing with a 445, followed by Benton (446), West Frankfort (462) and Murphysboro (481).

The Patriots put five players on the all-conference team as McKinnley Korte took medalist honors with an 81. Alexis Frazine added an 84 for Massac, while Elise Coakley and Lily Conkle each carded an 85 and Josie Walker shot an 88.

Harrisburg, which last won the Ohio Division in 2009, put three players on the all-conference team and were led by Frankie Leigh Nicholes' 88, who finished sixth overall and Gracie Behnke was seventh, shooting a 92. Madison McClusky fired a 97 to finish ninth overall and Jaci Robison rounded out the four-person scoring with a 119. Kinsley Angelly added a 124 for the Bulldogs.

Herrin's Zoe Williams was eighth overall, earning all-conference honors with a 94 and Benton's Alyssa Dawson took home medalist honors, with a 98.

Samantha Van Horn helped the Rangerettes with a 112, while Olivia Drew fired a 115 and Addie Dungy finished with a 121. Benton also got a 125 from Karlie Kulich and Ryleigh Bates added a 136.
