Bulldog boys pick up pair of wins on links
The Harrisburg boys golf team turned in a couple of first place finishes, winning a quad on Friday and edging out Marion Thursday.
The Bulldogs scored 157 points in a match Friday at Shawnee Hills Country Club, beating out Nashville (166), Hamilton County (173) and Goreville (179).
Andrew Bittle took home overall medalist honors, carding a two-over 38, while Evan McDermott finished with a 39 for the Bulldogs.
Harrisburg got a pair of 40's from both Grant Wilson and Krayton Morse, while Colby Morse (42) and Hayden Emery (53) rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs.
In Thursday's match against Marion, Bittle and Wilson both shot 39's and shared medalist honors with Marion's Karsten Stotlar and Peyton Danner.
The Bulldogs got a 42 from McDermott and a 43 from Krayton Morse to round out the four-person scoring, while Colby Morse finished with a 46 and Lawrence added a 48.
For the Wildcats, Hunter Henry shot a 43 and Kannon Bright carded a 44. Hayden Burns and Chase Austin each shot a 46.
<b>Harrisburg girls beat Benton, Murphysboro</b>
On Thursday, the Harrisburg girls' golf team picked up a win over Benton and Murphysboro as the Bulldogs scored a 183, while the Rangers shot a 203 and the Red Devils finished with a 211.
Madison McClusky took home medalist honors for the Bulldogs with a 38, while Frankie Leigh Nicholas fired a 42, while Gracie Behnke finished with a 44 and Kinsley Angelly carded a 59.
