EHS girls start off season strong

The Eldorado girls' golf team started off the season on the right foot, posting a 207-214 win over West Frankfort late last week in a home match at Saline County Country Club in Eldorado.

Eldorado's Adrienne Moore and Teegan Stanley shared medalist honors as both fired a 47.

Alexa Haenel finished with a 49 for the Eagles, while EHS got a 64 from Lexie Mitchell and a 74 from Cooper Cain.

West Frankfort was led by a 52 from Emily Eubanks, while Makane Cast shot a 53. Karsyn Thrash fired a 54 and Ashlan Galli finished with a 55. Quincy Bates carded a 60 for the Redbirds and Lani Wolfe added a 52.

Fairfield, which didn't post a team score, got a 58 from Katelyn Norton and a 67 from Kylie Stewart.

The Eldorado girls were scheduled to play at Carterville Monday, followed by a match at Shawnee Hills Country Club against Harrisburg on Tuesday.
