Carl Lange of Barcom Security visits Harrisburg Kiwanis

HARRISBURG - Harrisburg Kiwanis Club met for a weekly meeting on Wednesday, April 17 at Ponderosa.

Carl Lange, account representative of Barcom Security, was the featured speaker. "Perception is not always reality" is a phrase Lange opened with. He followed with the statistics that there is one break-in every 37 seconds in the United States with 66 percent being residential between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., times when residences are usually empty.

Because of this data, home security has become an important issue to people. His company, Barcom Security, is family-owned and operated and has been in business 43 years. It is completely contained in Southern Illinois, including the 5-diamond central monitoring station. Several different products are available.
