CGS's Mueller nets medal at Marissa meet
Chester Grade School Cross Country Coach, Jennifer Cartwright has been very pleased with her 2018 cross country teams to date. The Jr. Jackets have compete well both at Marissa and at home at the Cohen Complex course.
CGS competed at the Marissa Invitational Sept. 4. His meet featured runners from 17 schools that produced 14 team scores. The Chester varsity boys finished 8th out of 14 schools and produced one medal winner in Koda Mueller who placed 7th overall out of 137 competitors.
The varsity boys were led by Mueller, who finished 7th with his time of 10:04 for the 1.55-mile race. Gabriel Coffman finished 22nd with a time of 11:28.
Other varsity boys who finished included Jacob Handel (40th, 12:15), Lincoln Schroeder (58th, 13:15), Lonnie Carter (87th, 14:58), A.J. Bierman (95th, 15:42), Camden Britt (105th, 16:38), Braxton Conder (106th, 16:40), Eli Stout (115th, 17:37), Charlie Ralphs (127th, 20:08), Will Welge (130th, 20:23), and Chase Murphy (137th, 25:35).
Mascoutah won the race with 64 points.
On Sept. 18, the Junior Jackets hosted a small meet at the Chester Cohen Complex. The Boys Varsity Meet featured five CGS boys in a 1.8-mile race. Koda Mueller was Chester's first finisher with his time of 11:06. Other CGS varsity finishers included Jacob Handel (12:55), Maison Schemonic (13:20), Justin Hoffman (14:50), and Braxton Conder (17:58).
In the JV Boy's race seven Chester boys finished the 1.2-mile event. Gabrielle Coffman was Chester's first finisher with his time of 8:30. Other Chester JV boys included Brayden Absher (10:21), Lannin Carter (10:33), Eli Stout (11:14), A.J. Bierman (11:30), Lincoln Schroeder (13:04), and Charles ralphs (13:27).
The Jr. Jackets had only one varsity runner. Josalynn Anaya finished the 1.8-mile race with her time of 15:58.
The CGS JV Girls had 12 girls compete with Lola Thomas leading the pack with her time of 9:12. Erin Liefer had a time of 10:70.
