Dana Renee Parks of Harrisburg
Dana Renee Parks, age 50, gained her wings in God's Kingdom at 8:10 a.m. on Thursday May 25, 2017 in Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, surrounded by her family.
Dana was born on Aug. 4, 1966 in Harrisburg to Dannie Brasher and Vicki Davis Sloan, both whom survive. Dana married the love of her life, Jeff Parks on April 11, 1986 and he survives.
Dana worked as a legal secretary, but was first and foremost a Christian. She was not shy when it came to telling of her love for her God. She always had a smile for those who she would meet, and the peace in her soul was easy to detect. She bravely fought the cancer that invaded her body for 10 years, and her faith never waned during that time.
She attended the River of Life United Pentecostal Church in Harrisburg where she served currently as the secretary and treasurer. She was also a member of the First United Church in Carrier Mills.
Dana is survived by her husband, Jeff, and her two sons: Travis (Kristi) Parks of Carrier Mills; and Max (Tiffany) Parks also of Carrier Mills. She is also survived by her mother, Vickie Sloan of Carrier Mills, and her father Dannie (Linda) Brasher of Harrisburg; grandchildren Isaac and Tinley Parks and Lane Parks; brothers Billy Partain of Rhode Island, and Jason Brasher of Harrisburg; sister Angie (Shannon) Rone of Carrier Mills; stepbrother Bobby Deppin of Harrisburg; grandmother Virginia Davis of Carrier Mills and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Billy Davis and James and Ruby Brasher.
Visitation for Dana will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday May 31, 2017 at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Gentry and Rev. Stan Irvin officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the family to help with the final expenses.
