Ridgway to host electronics recycling

<p class="yiv8835701295ydpb3d3991fMsoNormal">RIDGWAY &#8211; Individuals with broken electronics to be disposed may do so Saturday, May 27 at the village of Ridgway's Water Department parking lot at 1008 W. Main St. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

<p class="yiv8835701295ydpb3d3991fMsoNormal">The event is open to the public.

<p class="yiv8835701295ydpb3d3991fMsoNormal">Because electronic devices are no longer permitted in landfills, recycling is one method of disposing of those items.

<p class="yiv8835701295ydpb3d3991fMsoNormal">A recycler will be present and will collect any broken or unwanted electronic devices.

<p class="yiv8835701295ydpb3d3991fMsoNormal">There is a small fee for recycling. Console and big-screen TVs are $10. Small-screen TVs, computer monitors and small flat-screen TVs are $5. The village of Ridgway's Facebook page has information on additional items.

<p class="yiv8835701295ydpb3d3991fMsoNormal">Due to recycling costs, some items no longer may be recycled for free. Vacuums, microwaves, printers and copiers now cost $1 to be recycled. The recycler also will accept used motor oil and batteries of all sizes for free.

<p class="yiv8835701295ydpb3d3991fMsoNormal">Paint will be accepted for $1 per container. Tires will not be accepted.
