A Du Quoin man was airlifted to St. Louis following a two-car accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Illinois 51 and 154.
The Perry County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies responded around 3:37 p.m. May 11 to the scene of the accident.
Investigators determined that a 2011 Chevy truck driven by Robert Juhl, 65, of Du Quoin was traveling southbound on Illinois 51 when he failed to stop at the intersection at Illinois 154, colliding with a 2008 Toyota driven by Terri Bradley, 54, of Mt. Vernon.
Following the initial collision, Juhl's truck spun and overturned, landing on top of a third vehicle, a 2013 Honda driven by Tyler Krone, 32, of Mulkeytown.
The sheriff's office did not disclose the extent of Juhl's injuries, although he was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital. Bradley and a passenger, 46-year-old Marvin Gates of Mt. Vernon, sustained minor injuries and were treated at Pinckneyville Hospital. Krone was not injured.
