Volunteers treat Brownsville School students to afternoons of fun

BROWNSVILLE – Students at Brownsville School got the chance recently to enjoy a spring carnival, plus talk to the Easter Bunny, thanks to some dedicated volunteers.

On Friday, the Fowler Bonan Foundation treated the students to a carnival, complete with fun and games. The carnival, coordinated by Danielle Camp of Harrisburg and staffed by her and other Fowler Bonan Foundation volunteers, got an assist from Harrisburg Elks Lodge members.

About 25-30 total volunteers made the carnival a success, Fowler Bonan Foundation Executive Director Kerry Camp said.

Prior to Friday's carnival, several Harrisburg Elks members escorted the Easter Bunny to Brownsville. Students there got the opportunity to give the Easter Bunny a hug and get a photo taken.

Danielle Camp said the opportunity to provide a fun day for Brownsville students was its own reward.

"This day has been a blessing to me and hopefully several others," she said "Life is beautiful."
