Harrisburg outhits Hamilton Co. at home
The Harrisburg softball team improved to 4-1 Tuesday afternoon with an 8-1 win over Hamilton County at home.<br />Alli Ferrell picked up the win, going the distance, tossing a four-hitter, while striking out four. Ferrell's run was unearned as the sophomore improved to 4-1 on the year in the circle for the Bulldogs.<br />At the plate, Harrisburg had eight hits on the day with McKenzie Sullivan and Essence Sanders leading the hit attack.<br />Both were 2-for-3 at the dish as Sullivan drove in three and Sanders finished with two RBI. <br />Karsyn Davis blasted her first home run of the season, a solo shot to left field in the fourth inning, as she went 1-for-3. Madeline Rider was also 1-for-3 with an RBI.<br />Hannah Reid, Gillian Jones and Ferrell were all 1-for-2.<br />"Alli pitched a good ballgame and we played good defense," Harrisburg head coach Red Stafford said. "When we got base runners on, we were able to capitalize with some good hits."<br />Harrisburg travels to Du Quoin today (Wednesday) and will return home to play Mundelein on Thursday. On Friday, Harrisburg travels east to Eldorado and will close out the week with a home double header on Saturday against Pope County and Union County, Ky.
