Eula Maxine Hise

SHAWNEETOWN -- Eula Maxine Hise, 95, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, in Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Junction, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel Kanady. She married Leitis Lee Hise on Dec. 27, 1941, in Missouri, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1981.

For many years, Maxine was a cook for Ridgway Manor Nursing Home.

She was a member of Junction First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Lee Hise of Shawneetown and Janet Lynn and Gary Householder of Morganfield, Kentucky; brother, Raymond Glen “Wimp” Kanady of Junction; grandchild, Bobby Lee Householder of Morganfield, Kentucky; and her sidekick, Socks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Beulah Harrelson; and brother, Jerry Dale Kanady.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with the Rev. Roy Dale Orr officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Maxine’s memory may be made to Junction First Baptist Church.
