Betty G. Clark
Betty G. Clark, 86, of Metropolis, passed away at 2:35 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.19, 2016 at the Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Miller Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Welch will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Born in Saline County, Betty was a member of the First Church of God in Metropolis. She had worked at the Good Luck Glove Factory, and in 1989, retired from JAMP, where she worked as a teacher's aide. She had served as Illinois State President of Women of Church of God, National Vice President of Women of Church of God, and on the Board of Hope Hill Children's Home in Hope, KY.
Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Clark of Metropolis; daughters, Cathy Tilker and husband Gene of Metropolis, and Rebecca Slepko and husband, Frank, of Port Orchard, WA; son, Bradley Clark and wife, Linda, of College Station, TX; six grandchildren, Christiana Clark and Katelyn Clark both of College Station, TX, Steve Tilker & wife, Xinia of Murray, KY, Jeff Tilker of Paducah, KY, Amanda and Nick Slepko both of Seattle, WA; seven great-grandchildren, Donovan, Damienn, Danny, Ellie, Daphne, Desiree, and Dennis Tilker; adopted daughter, Carolyn Bunting and husband, Rollie; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie Mae (Roy) Sowels; two sisters and seven brothers.
Visitation will be held today from 9-11 a.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
Memorials may be made to the Children of Promise, 1215 East 7th Street, Anderson, IN 46012.
