Everett Dean Nicholson
NEW BURNSIDE - Everett Dean Nicholson, 85, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Creal Springs to Omer and Lorene Wall Nicholson. He married the former Anna Louise Kelley of Creal Springs on Dec. 28, 1952, in Creal Springs Methodist Church.
Dean was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Olin General Dynamics Plant.
He was a trustee for Simmons Cemetery and attended Ozark Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Kim and David Tate of Harrisburg and Kay and Troy Brown of Ridgway; grandchildren, Jessica and Tyrone Wood, Kelley and Ryan Sander, Jordon Rister and Michaela, Adam Tate and Kalyn Tate; great-grandchildren, Savannah Hudson, Bennett Wood, Kanyon and Kayla Rister, Reuben Sander and Henry Tate; and sister, Dimple Boner of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Vicky Nicholson, in March of this year.
Private graveside services will be in Simmons Cemetery with the Rev. David Webb officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
Memorials to Simmons Cemetery or Ozark Baptist Church are the preferred choices are remembrance. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
