Dick Lawrence

Richard Lee "Dick" Lawrence, 80, of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:38 PM, Friday, May 6, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Richard was born on February 7, 1936 in Belton, MO to the late Clarence Leroy "Red" and Alice Doretha (Palmer) Lawrence. On November 23, 1957 he married Mona Healy and she survives. He was a preparation plant foreman for Amax Coal Company; he was a Navy veteran and a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving family members include his wife: Mona Lawrence of Harrisburg; two daughters: Lisa Frese and husband Tony of Harrisburg and Amy Victoria and husband James of Shiloh, IL, IL; three grandchildren: Zackary Frese and wife Valerie of Marion, IL, Gretchen Jones and husband Michael of Johnston City, IL and Mia Victoria of Shiloh, IL; two great-grandchildren: Remington Jones of Johnston City, IL and Adalae Frese of Marion, IL; three brothers-in-law: Paul Vinyard, Steve Easley and Bob McGehee; sister-in-law: Sally Wofford; several nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Phyllis Vinyard and Ann Easley and special aunt and uncle, Jack and Kathryn Palmer.

Memorial services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Billy Dye Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McKinley Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
