Helen Louise Teegarden

Helen Louise Teegarden, 77, of Harrisburg, passed away at 4 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Saline Care Center.

Helen was born on July 10, 1938 in Harrisburg to the late Bessie Brantley. Helen enjoyed bowling and bowled in the Wednesday night early bird bowling league. She loved working in her yard and gardening.

Surviving family members include her three children: Debbie (Mike) McIntosh of Harrisburg, David E. (Peggy) Teegarden of Shamrock, TX, and Diana (Jim) Tolbert of Carrier Mills; nine grandchildren: Amy Daughtery of Charlotte, NC, Jason Teegarden of Harrisburg, Whitney Teegarden of Harrisburg, P.J. Burrell of Shamrock, TX, David McIntosh of Harrisburg, Brianna Cruden of Bonaire, GA, Brandon McIntosh of Mitchell, IL, Benjamin McIntosh of Sullivan, IN and Stephanie Cluck of Harrisburg; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister: Bonnie (Willard) Prather of Raleigh, IL; brother: James "Bud" Brantley of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, great-grandson, William Michael McIntosh, two sisters, Donna Brantley and Mary Catherine Brantley and grandfather, E.W. Brantley.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, May 6, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Joe Poirot will officiate. Burial will follow in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
