Gov. Rauner in Du Quoin

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner and his staff pulled onto the parking lot of the St. Nicholas Brewing Co. at around 6:30 p.m. on Friday after a long day of touring flood-stricken Southern Illinois.

He spent time talking to staff member Jerome Wenzel about the history and makeover of the stunning micro-brewery and restaurant, eager to sit down, air out and have a great meal.

He did that.

The governor has now spent time in both of Du Quoin's signature restaurants--Alongi's and the St. Nick.

Rauner toured flood-ravaged areas on Friday and as his tour continued on Saturday there were near-record crests on the Mississippi River and levee breaks threatened more homes throughout the region.
