Sammie B. Mitchell, 61, Suisun City, CA

Sammie B. Mitchell, age 61, passed away peacefully at his home at 1:06 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on April 28, 1954 in Morganfield KY, son of the late Charles E. Mitchell, and Barbara J. Mitchell of Eldorado, IL. Sammie Graduated from Carrier Mills High School in 1972 and upon graduation joined the United States Navy where he served from 1972-1976 on the U.S.S. Pyro stationed from San Francisco, CA.

He is survived by his wife Tangee; mother, Barbara J. Mitchell of Eldorado, IL; children, Seth (Theresa) Mitchell, Sean Mitchell, Antoinette Zarate; Grandchildren, Charlie, Theya, Maxwell Mitchell, Alexander Teddy and Anthony Pacheco all of California.

Sister, Dianna (David) Rinehart of Cary, NC; Brothers, Donald (Jane) Mitchell of Harrisburg, Jacob (Brooke) Rampy of Plano, TX; Jerry (Ginger) Ferguson of Southaven, MS; Niece, Natalee (Bryce) Blackford of Monmouth, IL; Nephews, Caleb, Josh, and Jayce Mitchell of Harrisburg; Cameron and Caleb Rampy of Plano, TX; Great Nephew, Jackson Blackford of Monmouth, IL

He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for 30 years in Concord California until his recent retirement.

In respect for his wishes, cremation has been accorded. A private memorial service will be held Dec. 19 at the Vaca Hills Chapel funeral Home in Vacaville, CA. At his request, his ashes will be scattered at sea.
