Max Eugene Plunkett, 65, Eldorado
Max Eugene Plunkett, 65, originally from Eldorado, died Sunday, December 13, 2015, in Winston-Salem, NC. First, and foremost, Max believed and trusted that Jesus Christ was his Savior and Lord. If there is one thing about his life that he would want us to know and remember, it would be his love for Jesus. He devoted his life to showing God's love to others by being a loving husband, a selfless father, and a faithful friend. He impacted countless lives through his service as a deacon and member of Eldorado First Baptist Church and 33 years of teaching and coaching in the Eldorado School system. We are deeply grieved by the loss of Max's presence in our lives, but we are joyful knowing he is home with Jesus.
Max was born to the late Howard U. Plunkett and Blanche V. (Porter) Plunkett on September 7, 1950. He is preceded in death by his sister, Rita June Plunkett. He graduated Eldorado High School in 1968, received his associate degree from Southeastern Illinois Community College in 1970, and received his bachelor's degree from John Brown University in Arkansas in 1972. On July 15, 1972, he married the former June Lynn Jordan, and she survives in Winston-Salem, NC. He leaves a daughter, Audrey Lynn Plunkett, of Cathedral City, CA, and a son, Lee Howard Plunkett, of Winston-Salem, NC, married to Whitney Marie. He has two granddaughters, Ada June and Eliza Marie. He is also survived by two brothers, Paul Plunkett (Jean) and A.B. Plunkett (Rosa Lee), and one sister, Janet Garrison (Jess). He has many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Eldorado. Pastor Randy Plunkett will be officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
