Prep Girls Hoops: Harrisburg handles Red Devils

Harrisburg put three players in double figures in their 63-57 win over Murphysboro late last week at Davenport Gymnasium.

Lotte Miller led the Bulldogs with 14 points, while Lilee Robinson rang up 13 points and Kelsey Hobbs had 12 as the Bulldogs went 2-0 in Southern Illinois River-to-River Ohio Division play.

It was a balanced effort from the Bulldogs, who despite trailing 11-10 after the first quarter, never looked back taking a 28-20 lead into the locker room and outscored Murphysboro 14-13 in the third quarter.

Alexa Burtis added eight points for Harrisburg, while Hannah Bartok and Matty Hawkins each chipped in with seven points. Toni Crisp had two points for the Bulldogs.

Harrisburg will travel to Benton Tuesday and will be at Massac County Thursday.

Junior Varsity

Harrisburg 45, Murphysboro 28

Shianne Barker had nine points, while Karsyn Davis and Jenny Buchanan each had eight for Harrisburg win a 45-28 junior varsity win.

Brooke Meylor and Madeline Rider each chipped in with six points, while Ali Ferrell finished with four.

Devin Brown and Makenzie Marshall all had two points.
