Marcia J. Hurd, 64, Harrisburg

Marcia J. Hurd, age 64, resident of Harrisburg, IL passed away peacefully at 9:38 p.m. Tuesday-December 8, 2015 in the Deaconess Hospice in Evansville, IN.

She was born on February 3, 1951 in Harrisburg, IL daughter of the late Marion Hurd and Mary Kathleen (Landis) Hurd

Marcia graduated from the Harrisburg Unit Schools and later earned a degree in Administrative Justice from Southern Illinois University. She retired earlier this year

from the Saline County Probation Office of the First Judicial Circuit.

She was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Harrisburg and for the past few years she had been attending Sunday School at the Little Chapel Church.

She is survived by her brother; John (Sheryl) Hurd of Harrisburg, nephews and nieces; Brian Hurd of Harrisburg, Alan (Candace) Hurd of Fort Campbell, KY

Chris Pierce of St. Louis, Kevin Pierce of Fairview Heights, Kimberly Wright of Stephensport, KY and Misty Wright Johnson of Beaversdam, KY.

Great nieces and nephews; Chloe, Aiden, Alex, and Cailee.

In addition to her parents; Marion and Mary Kathleen she was preceded by brothers; Forrest Hurd and Doug Hurd, sister; Cheryl Wright, and niece; Marchetta

(Marti) Keller.

In respect of her wishes, cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday-December 11, 2015 at the Absher-Nicholson

Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with David Fritts and Philip Fritts officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to the service time on Saturday.

Burial of cremains will be in the Sunset Lawn cemetery in Harrisburg.
