Prep Girls Hoops: Bulldogs win big at Du Quoin
Kelsey Hobbs and Lotte Miller each scored in double figures as Harrisburg cruised to a 73-34 non-conference game against Du Quoin late last week.
It was the third road game in as many days for Jake Stewart's bunch, who said he was happy with the way his girls executed on both ends of the floor last Thursday.
"With this bring our third road game in three days we felt like we had to really execute especially on the defensive end and I thought we did that," he said.
Kelsey Hobbs had 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 shooting from the foul line as Harrisburg improved to 7-1 on the season.
Miller made 10 points on 2-of-5 shooting from the floor and 6-of-8 from the stripe.
Alexa Burtis and Karsyn Davis each added eight points, while Matty Hawkins had seven points. Shianne Barker finished with five points, while Jenny Buchanan and Toni Crisp each chipped in with four points. Lilee Robinson and Hannah Bartok each had two points, while Madeline Rider tossed in a free throw.
Carmi-White County 61, Eldorado 54
Jacqlyn Artman scored a team-high 19 points in a losing effort for Eldorado as they fell to Carmi-White County in Black Diamond Conference basketball last Thursday.
Abby Steed stuck in 12 points, while Caitlyn Stafford and Takiya Britton each netted nine points. Brooklynn Peavler tacked on three points, while Rachel Stafford finished with two points.
