Prep Girls Hoops: Harrisburg rolls to road win over Galatia
Harrisburg put three players in double figures as they cruised to a 73-26 win over Galatia in girls' basketball Wednesday night.
It was the second straight road win for the Bulldogs (5-2) after beating West Frankfort 63-58 Tuesday night.
Kelsey Hobbs continued her strong start to her senior campaign pumping in 21 points on the night, while fellow classmate Lilee Robinson pitched in with 11 points. Karsyn Davis came off the bench for 10 points.
Rounding out the scoring for Harrisburg included nine points from Alexa Burtis and Matty Hawkins added eight points. Madeline Rider chipped in with six points, while Shianne Barker finished with four points. Toni Crisp and Jenny Buchanan both had two points.
Galatia got a team-high eight points from Kassidy Rizor, while Kennedy Harris finished with five. Becky Gregory had four and Emma Reagan tacked on three points. Maddy Murphy, Mallory Mays and Miranda Miller all had two points.
The Bearcats shot 10-of-43 from the field for 23 percent on the night and went 1-of-9 from long range, while knocking down 5-of-7 free throws.
Harrisburg countered by going 28-of-70 from the field and were 12-of-16 from the foul line.
The Bulldogs close out a run of four games in six days with a date at Union County, Ky. Saturday night at 6 p.m. Galatia returns to action Monday when they play host to Gallatin County.

Davis and Barker each poured in 14 points a piece, leading the Harrisburg junior varsity team to a 47-23 win over West Frankfort Tuesday in their first game of the season.
Rider added eight points for the Bulldogs, while Ivy Brown finished with four points. Meylor tacked on three points, while Makenzie Marshall and Buchanan both had two points.
Harrisburg 51, Galatia 23
Davis led all scorers with 12 points, while Meylor wasn't far behind with 11 as Harrisburg rolled to a 51-23 win over Galatia in junior varsity girls' basketball.
Barker netted seven for Harrisburg, while Ali Ferrell finished with five points. Tatum Fitzpatrick, Brown and Rider all tacked on three points, while Devin Butler and Marshall both had two points.
