Prep Football: Eagles rack up postseason awards

The Eldorado High School football team littered the postseason awards list as the Eagles, who went 9-0 in Black Diamond Conference Play for the first time in school history, put a record number 16 people on the All-Conference Team.

Highlighting the Black Diamond Conference First Team were six Eagles. Teton Prather, Payton Price, Max Kasiar, Logan Bowen, Drew Woolcott and Nick Hudnell represented the Eagles, while the BDC Second Team included, Davin Laster, Chase Williams, Adam Ninness, Tre Vessel, Denzel Smith, Ross Harris, Isaac Bethel and Tyler Gass.

Honorable Mention honors went to Braden Attebury and Jacob Traxler.

Three Eagles, Bowen, Price and Kasiar were named to the All-South Team, while Bowen was named to the All-State Team.

Finally, Kasiar, Hudnell, Price and Woolcott were all named Academic All-State.

Ninness finished the season under center for the Eagles with 10 touchdowns and threw for 656 yards on 27-of-58 passing.

On the ground, Price led an Eldorado rushing attack with 1,343 yards on 117 carries and 17 touchdowns as a junior, while Vessel had 112 carries for 602 yards and 15 touchdowns. Woolcott had 66 carries for 556 yards and five touchdowns.

Eldorado ended the season at 9-1 after suffering a first round playoff loss to Athens at Boz Adams Field. The Eagles outscored the opposition 416-107 on the year.
