Mueller post-conviction hearing Dec. 10

In October 2012 Judge Richard Aguirre sentenced Robbie Mueller, now age 20, of Pinckneyville to 37 years in state prison for his role in the death of 15-year-old Sidnee Stephens. Mueller was the third teen sentenced in the July 2010 murder case. Stephens was missing for several days before her body was found in Beaucoup Creek south of Pinckneyville. She had been shot and strangled.

Mueller has now filed a post-conviction petition with Judge Aguirre arguing he was a victim of ineffective legal counsel. The judge will consider the petition privately on Dec. 10 and if he finds merit, it will go to the next stage.
