Jail says goodbye to one of its own
A man who has been with the Saline County Sheriff's Office since 1993 celebrated his retirement Wednesday at the Saline County Detention Center Building.
Wes Bebout has served downstairs in the jail and a Sheriff's Deputy for nearly 22 years.
"We wish you luck," said Sheriff Keith Brown. "You have two big reasons to do this, your grandchildren."
Sheriff Brown presented Bebout with a Saline County Sheriff's Office monogramed cooking apron and blanket throw.
"This job has changed so much in 22 years," said Bebout. "I have met a lot of good people and some bad people, but it has been worth it."
Many who have worked with Bebout were present at the celebration, including the man who hired in 22 years ago, George Henley, who served as sheriff when Bebout joined the force.
