Veterans breakfast Saturday at the Elks

Craig Smith of the Du Quoin Elks announced Wednesday that Ernie and Rozella Dickey will be preparing their ninth consecutive complimentary veterans breakfast for our local veterans and their spouses.

The veterans breakfast is this Saturday, Nov. 7 from 8-10 a.m. at the Elks Lodge just off Rt. 51 located immediately behind radio station WDQN.

This is a tradition that the Du Quoin Elks Lodge #884 is proud that they have started and continued, and hopes to continue for many years to come as a way of thanking those who have served our nation and their spouses who in a different manner served their nation as well. "The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is distinctly American, and our origination coincides with the founding of our country. Please come out and let us thank those who have served with this small gesture of our appreciation. There is a $5 charge for other family members and others in attendance," said Smith.
