First week of Perry jury docket is settled
Five cases scheduled for this week's Perry County Circuit Court docket were all settled on Monday either by plea agreement or the case being continued, according to the office of Perry County State's Attorney David Stanton.
Jurors were not called for the first of the back-to-back settings.
The cases on the docket for Monday were: People Vs. Joyce A. Bergman. Reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of cannabis. She reached a plea agreement.
People vs. Sherri Johnson. DUI. She reached a plea agreement.
People Vs. Kevin McBride. Two counts of aggravated battery, resisting a police officer and criminal trespass to land. Case was continued to the January 2016 jury docket.
People Vs. Joshua Suhr. Retail theft (enhanced). A plea agreement was reached.
People Vs. Adam Melvin. Domestic battery. The case was dismissed.
In a sixth case actually scheduled for the Nov. 9 jury docket, People Vs. Kallie A. Mathis, the woman waived trial by jury. She is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
The second November jury docket begins next Monday, Nov. 9 at the courthouse in Pinckneyville.
