BASKETBALL: Lady Warriors beaten by Benton at Tip-Off

Du Quoin trailed by nine at the half and by double-digits for most of the second half before closing to within three late in Thursday's game at the DMS Girls Basketball Tip-Off, but Benton managed to hang on for a 49-45 victory despite a 9-for-31 performance at the free throw line.

The Rangerettes finished the tournament with a 2-1 mark to claim second behind 3-0 Bartelso.

Bailey Harsy led DMS with 18 points. Elizabeth Bird added 10 points, Chloe Prather had 9, Braylee Watson 6 and Chloe Hess 2.

Benton was led by Macy Fee, who finished with a game-high 19 points. Mady Wallace added 17.

The Lady Warriors finished the Tip-Off with a record of 1-2. They fell 40-23 to Bartelso on Monday night and defeated Sparta 45-18 on Wednesday night.

Du Quoin now has 11 days off before playing at Pinckneyville Junior High School on November 9.
