New Wave rates going up again in November
Citing the cost of its investment in fiber optic technology and the growing cost of programing, New Wave Communications is telling customers in this market that it will raise its rates again in November.
Price changes will flow into the billing cycle November 1 and generally will include the following changes.
Increases will vary by market, but will impact all TV customers. The majority of markets will see a $1.85 monthly increase and a $9.79 surcharge.
A-la-carte (rate card) and most package customers will see a $6 per month increase.
The family-plus digital tier will increase by $1.
Premium channels will have a $1 increase for HBO and HBO The Works; a $1 price increase for Showtime Unlimited; and a $2 increase for Starz Super Pack and Multi-Screen.
Internet customers will see a $1-$2 increase in select packages. The increases will not impact a-la-carte rates and will not impact New Wave marketing campaigns.
Newly launched 100, 50 and 120 Mb packages will not be impacted by basic and expanded internet increases, but broadcast basic surcharge oes impact your overall bill.
Some markets that are not being upgraded until later in the year will not be affected immediately.
Package customers will receive increases but continue to receive highly discounted pricing comparative to rate card pricing. Bundled customers receive the best pricing.
The majority of package customers will receive an increase on their broadcast basic surcharge plus an approximately $7.58 increase on their bund ($6 TV and $1-$2 internet. Bundled customers with the family plus digital tier and premiums will see additional increases.
Customers on the 12 and 24 month TV and internet campaigns will not be impacted by the increases (with the exception of the broadcast basic surged) but will roll to rate card pricing after the campaigns end.
The majority of package customers will be impacted by increases at the same time.
