VOLLEYBALL: Lady Panthers eliminated by Trico at Regional

Pinckneyville was upended by Trico at Tuesday night's IHSA Class 2A Volleyball Regional in Red Bud, ending the Lady Panthers' season with a record of 20-15 overall. The Lady Pioneers dominated the opening set 25-10 and took the second 30-28.

The Lady Panthers, seeded fourth, were led offensively by Sophie Keith with 5 kills. Mady Epplin finished the night with 10 digs for PCHS.

Sixth-seeded Trico moves on to Thursday's 6 p.m. championship match at Red Bud against top-seeded Gibault Catholic. The Lady Hawks knocked off the Regional host Lady Musketeers on Tuesday in the other semifinal.
