State Street incident ruled suicide
<span>A Sunday afternoon incident on State Street near Hillcrest Drive has been ruled a suicide, according to Randolph County Coroner Randy Dudenbostel.</span>
<span>Officers with the Chester Police Department were called at 3:38 p.m. to the report of a "hanging" at 2840 State St. and were led to 19-year-old Allison R. Meier.</span>
<span>Officers attempted to revive Meier before transporting her to Chester Memorial Hospital via MedStar Ambulance.</span>
<span>Dudenbostel said Meier had been found by family members and she was pronounced dead at the hospital at 4:30 p.m.</span>
<span>According to her obituary, released Monday by Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, she was a student at Chester High School.</span>
<span>"Nothing appears to be foul play or anything like that," Dudenbostel said.</span>
<span>According to Randolph County property records, the home is owned by Alice R. Lyons. In an email, Chester Police Chief Ryan Coffey directed all inquiries to the coroner's office, which is continuing to investigate the incident in collaboration with the CPD.</span>
