Dinner Theater to benefit 'Shop With a Cop'

Last year, it was one of the greatest nights of the holiday season as Keenan Rice and the "We got It Covered" band hosted back-to-back holiday dinner theaters at the Elks and the American Legion.

This year, one show will be held at the Legion on Saturday, Nov. 14 to benefit the Du Quoin Police Department's "Shop With a Cop" program that benefits over 100 families. It's an expensive night, almost $9,500 to buy toys and clothes for kids.

Last year, Rice & Company raised $3,500 by themselves. The night starts at 5: 30 p.m. (fish, chicken and sides) followed by the dinner theater at 6:30 p.m. and finally a night of great music from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The dinner and comedy theater are $15 for adults, $10 for children and free to guests 5 and under. Tickets will be available starting Monday at Rice's Country Companies Insurance office on North Division St. or at the police department.

If you can't come to the dinner theater, please make a contribution to the program at the police department.
