Prep Volleyball: Eagles knock off Zeigler-Royalton in straight sets

The Eldorado High School volleyball team swept Zeigler-Royalton in straight sets Tuesday night, winning 25-10 and 25-11.

In the game, Mary Mitchell was 6-for-6 on sets and 24-for-24 on serves with 24 points, five aces and 15 digs.

Rachel Durham was 22-for-24 on sets and 5-for-5 on spikes, finishing with five serving points and 10 digs, while Brooklynn Peavler was 2-for-2 on spikes and 8-for-8 on serves with nine points, one ace and five digs.

Abby Steed went 6-for-6 on sets and 14-for-15 on spikes with four kills and two serving points.

Lexi Clore was 1-for-1 on sets and 4-for-4 on spikes, while going 2-for-2 on serves with two points and 10 digs.

Kaitlyn McGuire was 3-for-3 on spikes and had 10 digs, while Jordan Bailey was 3-for-3 on spikes and 1-for-1 on serves with one point and three digs.

Whitney McGuire was 2-for-3 on sets and 8-for-8 on spikes. She finished with one block and five digs.

Samantha Boulds was 1-for-3 on spikes and 3-for-4 on serves with four points and six digs, while Tia Briddick went 2-for-2 on sets and 1-for-2 on spikes. She finished with one serving point and five digs.

The Eldorado junior varsity team also won in two sets.

The Eagles were scheduled to play host to Vienna Wednesday and are at Carmi-White County tonight (Thursday). EHS Senior Night will be October 20th against Sesser-Valier and on Oct. 22, the Eagles will play host to Fairfield.
