Prep Golf: EHS girls' BDC championship streak snapped

The streak has been snapped.

After four years of winning the Black Diamond Conference girls' golf tournament, Carmi-White County knocked the Eagles off the podium with a first place finish at Wednesday's conference golf tournament at Franklin County Country Club in West Frankfort.

Carmi-White County turned in a tournament-best 357, while Zeigler-Royalton-Christopher took second with a 414 and edged Eldorado by two strokes as the Eagles finished third with a 416.

Jacqlyn Artman took low honors for Eldorado with a 94 and finished sixth overall, earning All-Conference honors.

Keely Tate had a 102 for the Eagles, while Kileah Lowery finished with a 106. Rounding out the four-person scoring for Eldorado was Derian Corn's 114.

Ashlyn Sizemore (115) and Olivia Parker (116) played as individuals for the Eagles.

On the boys' side, Eldorado finished one spot off of last place, finishing seventh with a 429.

Hamilton County won the boys portion of the tournament with a 322, while Chester was second with a 333. Carmi-White County took third, firing a team total 349 and Goreville was fourth at 369. Trico rounded out the top five with a 371, while Vienna was sixth with a 387, followed by Eldorado and Fairfield with a 471.

Jack Mings had the low round for EHS, finishing with a 103, while John Amberger was second for the Eagles with a 106. Ben Byrd finished with a 109 and Josh Rice carded a 111. Sam Coker came in with a 121 and Ely Boulds fired a 124.

The Eldorado boys team will return to action at Shawnee Hills Country Club Monday, taking on Harrisburg in dual match action and will conclude the week at Carmi-White County.

Meanwhile the EHS girls' team will also play at Shawnee Hills Country Club Monday and will close out its week at Carmi-White County.
