VOLLEYBALL: Crab Orchard sneaks by Lady Falcons
The Lady Falcons made it close, but in the end, Crab Orchard was able to survive their trip to Elverado High School with a 25-23, 25-21 victory.
"We gave them a good match, we actually probably gave them more points than they earned," said EHS head volleyball coach Donette Wheatley. "We have got to clean our game up - no unforced errors. We played offense, had some great kills, but our serve receive hurt us tonight. Playing these tougher schools will only make us better."
Tori Ehlers had a team-high five kills and three digs for the Lady Falcons. Maycee Bowlin led EHS with six assists. Allie Whittington had three kills and two digs, Ellie Winthrop finished with two kills, two digs, and two blocks. Emma Bigham led the team in aces with four.
Crab Orchard also won the junior varsity match, 25-13, 25-19. Whittington and Jessica Sarensen each had three kills for EHS. Melissa Sarensen had six digs.
Elverado was victorious in the freshman contest, 25-10, 25-22. Jessica Sarensen's six kills led the way.
Elverado (1-3, 1-0) plays at Hamilton County on Monday.
