Taylor Goodley - Austin Peay
Goodley played in her first collegiate tournament at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club in Pawleys Island S.C., part of the Gulfweek Program Challenge, where the freshman shined for the Governors.
Goodley had three straight sub-80 scores, firing a 78 on the final day to finish 32nd overall (Tuesday) for a team-low 228.
"I am proud of the way Taylor came out strong in her first event," Austin Peay head coach Sara Robson said.
In early qualifying, Goodley came in as the No. 1 player for the Governers, but played in the No. 3 spot in South Carolina.
Goodley was tied for 19th after Day 1 with pair of 37's for a 74 and came back on Day 2 with a pair of birdies to fire a 76 to finish in 22nd place.
Goodley will next play at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Ky. this coming Monday and Tuesday as part of the Murray State Invitational. The tournament, originally scheduled for Drake Creek Golf Course in Ledbetter, was moved due to poor greens conditions.
