Prep Volleyball: BIg Win Bulldogs
The Harrisburg High School volleyball team took a big step in its goals for the season, knocking off South Seven Conference power Marion in three sets Tuesday night.
After falling 25-11 in the first set, Harrisburg rallied to win 25-22 and 15-13.
"Tonight was a big win for Harrisburg," head coach Heather Cox said. "Marion has a quality team and tonight we just played tough, smart volleyball. We've been working on a new rotation this past week to eliminate some serving errors and it definitely paid off tonight with only two missed serves."
In the game, Matty Hawkins had 11 kills and three blocks, while Bryleigh Buchanan had five kills and four blocks. Lillie Robinson finished with nine assists and 16 service points. Jessica Schwartz had eight assists and Madeline Rider added two aces and one kill in the win over the Wildcats.
"We got some ough defense from Hannah Bartok and Devin Butler (libero)," Cox said. "Both ladies also served well."
Harrisburg returns to action tonight at Benton to close out the week.
