The Gift: New Indian football uniforms

The new Indian Football season comes with an unveiling of Du Quoin's new Under Armour™ home and away football uniforms courtesy of Du Quoin buinessmen Tracy Fenton of Fenton's Custom Collision and Ron Porter of Fare Foods.

Fenton provided all of the barbecue and Porter provided all of the sides like cole slaw, salad dressing and the needed serving supplies during a May 16 weekend fundraiser.

Barbecue plates were sold for $10 each and team members were asked to sell six dinners each. You could also place orders on your own. The result was 630 dinners being sold, enough to pay for all but a few hundred dollars of the cost. Other fundraising initiatives made up the difference.

The varsity team now has both new home and away uniforms because of the two men's extraordinary generosity.

Fenton will also be a sponsor of Elverado booster night at VanMetre Field this coming weekend as well as sponsor of the halftime football toss.

The community owes a debt of gratitude to these two men for their generosity and caring.
