Middle School Roundup: Harrisburg hangs on to beat Herrin

HARRISBURG - The Harrisburg Middle School baseball team improved to 15-2, outlasting Herrin 3-2 late last week.

The Bulldogs survived four lead changes in notching the win as Harrisburg used four pitchers.

Easton Wallace got the start, going two innings and allowing one run on two hits, while striking out three.

Noah Boon went two innings, allowing one hit, while striking out four and Nolan BeBout allowed one run on two hits, while striking out two.

Isaac Crabb got the win, striking out three over two innings for HMS.

At the plate, Will Holland, Wallace and Bebout all had two hits on the day, while Bebout and Martin each had an RBI.

Jordan Dalton, Holland and Wallace all scored runs for HMS.

EMS softball beats NCOE 4-1

ELDORADO - The Eldorado Middle School softball team earned a 4-1 win at Norris City-Omaha-Enfield late last week.

Emma Wargel picked up the win in the circle, tossing seven innings, while giving up one earned run on five hits, while striking out seven.

At the plate, Lexie Mitchell went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI and a run scored, while Trinity Goolsby drove in the other two runs.

Paige Munds scored a pair, while Wargel scored the other and Cydney Van Zant was the other Eagle to notch a hit in the win.
