The event had 77 pre-kindergarten through fifth graders in attendance and participants enjoyed their experience being trained by the CHS Dance Team members.

This year's theme was "Riding the Waves Lilo and Stitch" and throughout the week, most activities centered on the theme.

"The campers really worked hard throughout the week and did a great job of learning their routine,"said CHS Dance Team coach Barb Misuraca. "We were very happy with their performance and the CHS Dance Team learned a lot too, while teaching the young dancers throughout the week."

The event was coordinated and taught by the Chester High School Dance Team and coaches. Senior dance team members are captains Alyssa Hoops and Emily Eggemeyer, and Anna Cole.

Junior dancers included McKenzie Shinabarger and Lindsey Schroeder. Sophomore dancers are assistant captains Bailey Misuraca and Alyse Vasquez, Joslyn Abernathy, Taylor Howie, Emma Naeger, Miah Mitchell and Hanna Bert.

Freshmen dancers include Lauren Welge and Abbey Bauer. The Yellow Jacket Dance Team is coached by Misuraca and Adrianne Brockmeyer.

Each night at camp, the dancers learned dance style, engaged in group-building activities, enjoyed snacks and practiced their end-of-camp dance routine. The routine was performed on August 28 prior to Chester football's season opener against Fairfield.

The little dancers were divided into four groups by age for training and teaching purposes. The Hawaiian theme of Lilo and Stitch made for a fun and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the camp.

One of the activities at the camp was a hula-hoop contest and there was one major winner in each age group.
