Classroom changes as Du Quoin schools open

As Du Quoin schools open this week students will see both a handful of new teachers as well as familiar teachers in different places.

Dist. 300 superintendent Dr. Gary Kelly on Monday itemized the changes that students will see.

The changes follow:

Elementary School

Derek Beard has been transferred from the Du Quoin High School special education program to the elementary school special education program..

-Sarah Phipps has been transferred from the kindergarten to the fourth grade.

-Mandie Davis has been transferred from and instructional aide position to the fourth grade.

-Dacia Harsy will become a first grade teacher.

Middle School

-Leslie Small has been reassigned from the Title I program to the fifth grade.

-Laura Krone is being transferred from the fourth grade to the fifth grade.

-Katie HIcks is being reassigned to physical education. She was previously an instructional aide.

High School

-Michelle Favreau is a new mathematics teacher
