Car and Motorcycle Collide in Front of Casey's in Du Quoin

First responders were called to the scene of a car and motorcycle accident in front of Casey's on South Washington Street in Du Quoin Monday afternoon. Du Quoin police say a car driven by Miranda Kish, 18, of Du Quoin was southbound on Washington Street and turned left into the path of the northbound motorcycle driven by Daniel T. Swain , 55, of Wheeling West Virginia. He is pictured being lifted on a gurney by Pinckneyville Ambulance Service medics, police officers and firemen. He was taken to Marshall Browning Hospital and later flown to a St. Louis hospital for treatment. Kish escaped injury and was helped from the ground where she sat down to talk to first responders. She was cited for failure to yield to avoid an accident.
