Two arrested after gunshots heard in Walsh

<span>Randolph County sheriff's deputies responding to the report of gunshots being fired at a residence in the Walsh on Sunday night made two arrests.</span>

<span>Upon arriving at the scene, deputies made contact with 31-year-old John Elliot Gimber, of Tilden, who was leaving the property of 35-year-old convicted felon David R. Wilkey at 8641 Bodeker Lane in Walsh.</span>

<span>Gimber was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis and taken to Randolph County Jail, where he posted bond and was released.</span>

<span>Deputies later executed a search warrant on the Wilkey residence and arrested him for unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of cannabis.</span>

<span>Wilkey was also taken to Randolph County Jail, where he remained incarcerated as of Monday afternoon pending bond being set by a judge.</span>

<span>According to online court records, Wilkey was sentenced to 18 months of probation in Randolph County court in 2008 for firearm possession by a felon.</span>

<span>Two counts of aggravated battery in that case were dismissed.</span>
