BASEBALL: Rainout gives Du Quoin the District title

Rain washed out the Junior American Legion 25th District Tournament championship game on Monday, handing the first place trophy over to Du Quoin Post 647. Du Quoin was set to face off with Metropolis, and since both teams are advancing to this weekend's 5th Division Tournament, the game will not be rescheduled. Post 647 received the top seed from District 25 based on their regular season record. Du Quoin will play on Saturday at 12:15 in round one of the Division tourney at Salem, Ill. The winner of the third place game between Goreville and Murphysboro will also advance.
