Obituary: Mollie Lee (Casteel) Henderson
Mollie Lee (Casteel) Henderson, 69, of Marion, formerly of Eldorado, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in Deaconess Hospital after her short battle with cancer. She was born in Elizabethtown on April 27, 1946 to the late Joseph and Edith (Tyree) Casteel. She was retired from the coal mines working at Sahara for many years. Mollie loved to garden, read, cook but mostly enjoyed be a mother and grandmother. Her family was her life. Mollie will be remembered as a good mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by many.
Mollie is survived by her daughter, Kristy (Jeremy Smith) Julian of Eldorado and a son, Jim (Kelli) Henderson of Marion. Eight Grandchildren, Shawn, Alexandra, Daniel, Madison, Marissa, Tracy Jr., Andrew and Katie, four Great Grand, Wyatt, Jacqueline, Rossi and Holland. Six brothers, Jack (Deanna) Casteel, Harold Casteel, Hubert (Jackie) Casteel, Darrell (Rose) Casteel, Allen (Joyce) Casteel and Alvin (Teri) Casteel. One sister, Nellie Casteel. She was preceded in death by a son, Tracy Henderson, two brothers, Joseph Casteel Jr. and Thomas Casteel, three sisters, Josephine Smith, Malinda Clevenger, and Alberta Milligan.
Visitation for Mollie will be on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A graveside service with Rev. Don Puckett officiating will follow at 1 p.m. at the Leavell Hill Cemetery, Junction.
Mollie donated her corneas because of her love of reading so someone else could enjoy the gift of sight. The family would also like to thank the Deaconess VNA Hospice for the impeccable service and support they gave the family.
